Peer Review Policy
Quality assurance process
JBL employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process, meaning that the identities of both the reviewer and the author are kept hidden from each other throughout the review process.
The Process
- Submission: The corresponding author submits the paper to the journal.
- Editorial Assessment: The Editor checks the paper's composition and arrangement against the journal's Author Guidelines to ensure it includes the required sections.
- Appraisal by Editor-in-Chief: The EIC checks that the paper is appropriate for the journal and is sufficiently original and interesting. Papers not meeting this criterion are rejected without review.
- Invitation to Reviewers: The handling editor sends invitations to individuals believed to be appropriate reviewers.
- Review Conducted: Reviewers assess the manuscript and submit their recommendations (Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, Reject).
- Decision: The editor considers the reviews and makes a final decision.
Typical Timeline
We aim to provide a first decision within 4-6 weeks of submission. The entire process from submission to publication typically takes 3-4 months.
